Camp Unalayee Summer Camp is a non-profit wilderness summer camp that has been taking kids on outdoor adventures since 1949. It provides meaningful outdoor experiences for children ages 10–17 and welcomes children from all walks of life. The program actively teaches confidence, compassion, community, and conservation, and has introduced thousands of kids to backcountry living while maintaining an impeccable safety record. Camp Unalayee provides financial assistance to many of its campers, allowing kids from all income levels to have a wilderness summer camp experience. The camp describes itself as a place of friends, where adventures and friendships last a lifetime at a wilderness summer camp for kids, and uses the slogan “No Child Left Inside!” Camp Unalayee acknowledges that its basin sits on the ancestral land of the Hupa, Karuk, Yurok, Wintu and the Shasta people, recognizes their ancestral past and present, and expresses appreciation for the opportunity to explore, learn, teach, work, and live there.
